BOC-3 Filing: Process Agents for Motor Carriers and Brokers

  1. Determine whether BOC-3 applies. Confirm that your motor carrier, broker, or freight forwarder authority requires a BOC-3 filing.
  2. Select an authorized process agent. Choose a process agent or blanket company that is authorized to make the filing.
  3. Provide accurate company information. Give the filing provider the exact legal business information associated with the FMCSA registration.
  4. Complete the filing. The authorized process agent files the BOC-3 with FMCSA.
  5. Keep proof of filing. Retain confirmation and periodically verify that the filing remains associated with the authority.
